Samuel Mitchell is an Australian, Oxford-based pianist and singer who is currently a lay clerk at Christ Church Cathedral. Having moved to the UK in 2016 for a choral scholarship at Gloucester Cathedral, Samuel has been invited to sing with Ex Cathedra, The Blenheim Singers, Untune the Sky and deputises at Westminster Abbey and St Paul’s Cathedral. Recent solo performances include Bach’s solo cantata BWV 54 with the Oxford Bach Soloists, Charpentier’s Le Reinement de Saint Pierre under Laurence Cummings and Bach’s Actus Tragicus with In Echo. As a pianist, he holds an MPhil in chamber music and accompaniment from the University of Queensland.
